Wronged by Rights

I do care if your heart

Is in the right place. But it’s not so simple.

It’s also not so discernible or unchangeable.

Reductive verdicts change

With change and nothing

Lasts. Last words ring until the next word

Grins and then someone says ‘syringe’

But means nothing by it.

But we buy into it

Even when we don’t. So when our hearts

Are in the right place, we’re lying to our mind

And to its placement.

For where is the right

Except relative to the left? And to whom?
