Huming Bean

My ears itch

Coffee brews impatiently

Policy makers leave no name.

The office—

Dark now—

Waits angrily for the bad breaths of tomorrow.

Useless and ripe now—

Won’t slake thirst,

Cure hunger,

Cause cancer,

Or do a goddamn thing.

But it’ll wait.

Patiently wait

By your window patiently,

Tugging on my nose,

Ready for the end of the world.
